The Second Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) Meeting

The second Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) Meeting was held at the Department of Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry Conference Room on Friday, November 14, 2014.

The aim of this meeting was to share the progress of each activity since the last Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) meeting on November 8, 2013, discuss current issues and challenges, and talk about future plans. Mr. Arthit Wuthikaro (Director General of Department of Industrial Promotion) was the chairman of the meeting. Thirty-five Participants attended, including Mr. Ikeda, Mr. Miyoshi, and Ms. Chayanun from JICA Thailand Office (Private Sector Development), and Ms. Oikawa, and Mr. Yamakita (JICA experts).

The first phase of project work plan was completed in October, 2014 it was the planning phase to introduce RISMEP mechanism to relevant parties in designated area of Thai region. Ms. Oikawa , Team Leader of JICA Expert Team proposed the second phase of work plan (Nov. 2014 – May 2016) to implement the RISMEP mechanism in project area and the team is confident that this plan would show success case to make other people see more clear picture and understanding of RISMEP mechanism. She also pointed out the highlights of each output since the last work plan. In addition, she presented the project strategies to achieve the future Outputs including seeing more integration among related agencies to show concrete results, and how to expand the RISMEP mechanism to other province in the future. Each Industrial Promotion Center of Chiang Mai, Surat Thani, Nakorn Ratchasima, and Suphanburi provinces reported their activities and future work plan to the committee. The plans were approved and the Centers confirmed that almost all activities were being implemented as planned. For other agenda items, suggestions were made to educate and strengthen RISMEP understanding among relevant parties including Thai SMEs, and to cooperate with the governors of each province, thus increasing people's understanding of RISMEP mechanism and of how this project will benefit regional Thai SMEs.
