Collaboration research meeting about data analysis on medical reimbursement

A research team from Thailand's National Health Security Office (NHSO) met with the leading research team from Japan in Nonthaburi province on 12th -13th of February 2020 to discuss about current research interests of the NHSO and to customise its research proposal under research cooperation supported by the Project (GLO+UHC).

Currently, Thailand's NHSO is seeking more collaboration with universities and research institutes to boost its research capacity. During this meeting, the two parties have exchanged views and experiences in their research field focusing on medical reimbursement and analysis of patient data for better medical practices and health service quality.

Japanese team commented on the research proposal from Thai side; a case study of medical reimbursement in subacute care in Ischemic stroke patients. Conversely, Japan side also got this opportunity to learn about well-structured data platforms and research priorities of the NHSO, while at the same time discussing the improvement of research capacity in Thailand.

The meeting was fruitful and the two parties have mutually agreed on continuing and expending the collaboration starting from having a next joint workshop on building research capacity and advocacy in June 2020.

GLO+UHC will continue to support this collaboration of the two parties under its technical cooperation scheme.
