Handover Ceremony for S-TOP Equipment Provision

On 28 April 2022, the Handover Ceremony of S-TOP Equipment Provision was held at the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) in the presence of Dr. Thongchai Keerathihattayakorn, Deputy Permanent Secretary of MOPH and Mr. Takahiro Morita, Resident Representative of JICA Thailand.

The S-TOP Equipment Provision includes:

  • For facility-based rehabilitation
    - 76 lightweight wheelchairs
    - 55 sets of occupational therapy kits
    - 23 sets of stacking cones for occupational therapy
    - 76 non-contact thermometers with stand
  • For home visiting
    - 63 home visiting sets that include electronic blood pressure monitor, portable non-contact thermometer, portable ultrasound for rehabilitation, stethoscope, pulse oximeter, and special home visiting bag to carry all this equipment

These pieces of equipment were distributed between the end of March and early April this year to eight pilot sites in Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nonthaburi, Bangkok, Chonburi, Surat Thani and Phuket; and two potential settings in Chiang Rai and Nakhon Pathom.

This Equipment Provision was made to support the smooth implementation of project activities in the pilot sites and potential settings where project activities are being carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project believes that these pieces of equipment will be used effectively to achieve the project goal.
