JICA Technical Cooperation Project has been Commenced in February

The first four Japanese experts of the Project arrived at Ankara on February 4 and have meetings with Project Director and Project Manager at TU"GEM, MARA. The experts has proceeded to Trabzon, where is a center of the project area, with representatives of JICA and MARA and started discussions with government officials and field reconnaissance. The first 1.5-month work period was completed by five Japanese experts; Mr. Nishiya, Mr. Baba, Dr. Matsushima, Mr. Kuwahara and Dr. Shemsu. After completion of a series of baseline studies, they left Turkey on March 19. The Advisory Team form JICA Headquarter visited to the Project site from March 10 to 14. The two members, Dr. Tokida and Mr. Yamazaki, observed and managed project implementation conditions.
The second work period in Turkey has started on May 15.
