Project counterparts present their results

It past one year and half since the project began. We hold the third PCC meeting today. Our project updated the activities' progress and announce the next plan in front of the delegates from the government of Tuvalu, Kaupule, the representative of residents and Embassy of Repubulic of China Taiwan.

Two presentations were made by the project local counterparts.

One was presented by Mr.Paeniu, who is the member of the Foram ecosystem group. He has been monitoring the density of the foram in the specific area at Fongafale, PH and water temperature of the tanks over the year. He reported the analyses of his study.

Another was presented by Mr.Ane, who is the member of Coastal technology and remote sensing group. He has been surveying the coastal line at the specific area in Fongafale. His presentation gave the interesting comparison of the survey results between 2009 and 2010. When he surveyed the coastal line in October 2009, the result was very different from in March, 2009. However, when he surveyed in August, 2010, the result is almost same as April, 2010.

Although this was the first experience for both, their attitudes were confident and contents were substantial.

We enjoyed drinking beers in celebration of their wonderful jobs.

They will go to training in Japan this October. This trip will be the good chance to learn many things and strengthen the relationship between Japanese experts and Tuvaluan counterparts.
