Seminar on Urea-treated rice straw method

This seminar was held in November 2007 in Ba vi area, with around 30 participants including dairy farmers from Ba Vi and Vinh Thinh including LTs and staff of Ba vi center and project counterparts. The main presenter of this

seminar was Dr. Sugiwaka Teruo and Dr. Moriyama Hiromitsu.
In this seminar, the Project delivered notebook, pen and reference documents about urea treated rice straw. This seminar was organized based on what had observed about silage making practice of dairy farmers in Vinh Tuong, Ba vi and Moc Chau where many farmers did not practice urea treatment of rice straw even rice straw was much available in the harvest seasons in low land areas. In this seminar, JICA project experts gave recommendations for dairy farmers about how to preserve rice straw properly to make urea treatment and the way to do. Also, they included some wrong points in farmers’ method when they practiced silage making.
