In October 2nd, 2008 the project held one demonstration of urea treated rice straw in one model farm, Mr. Hoc’s farm, among 10 model farms of the project in Vinh Thinh area. This kind of activity was carried as a result of practical observation in Vinh Thinh of the project’s expert & counterparts. Though rice straw was available in area, none of dairy farms here could utilize it effectively in their livestock farm. The activity as an introduction step for farmer not only to be able to make urea treated rice straw but more important to enrich their feed source for their dairy cattle.
The steps to make urea treated rice straw were not complicated and preparation for making was very simple. Expected that dairy farmers in Vinh Thinh could practice frequently to supply abundant feed for dairy cattle basing on available local material.

The result of this demonstration was satisfactory. After one month, farmer started feeding for his cattle with a good quality & soft rice straw.
