After Local Technician Training courses in STED, the project wanted one side to check achievements of participants after joining the project’s courses other side to enhance their skills in their local areas, LT Follow-up trainings on mastitis control were carried out in two target areas: Moc Chau & Vinh Tuong.

In this kind of training the main instructors were the project’s counterparts. In both areas, the project implemented trainings on bacteriological examination, identification of subclinical mastitis causative pathogens like SA bacterium identification, sensitivity test, coagulated test. To carry out such trainings, LTs were required to collect milk samples from any model farm they managed directly. After getting examination results, LTs had to explain for farmers.

To serve for these activities in two target areas, it was very necessary to have the laboratory with an incubator. That requirement was not so difficult with Moc Chau Dairy JSC case but it was really a difficulty for Vinh Thinh people committee. Therefore, when activities were carried out in Vinh Thinh, the project had to bring milk samples back to Bavi Center for examination. As a result, local technicians from Vinh Thinh had to go to Bavi Center for practice.

Actually, these kinds of training were so effective and raised interests of local technicians.
