Project Activities

  1. Facilitate the adoption and sound implementation of the ART service by District Medical Officers (DMOs).
  2. Provide technical support and supervision to districts for ART
  3. Enhance the management of capacities of DMOs/ health facilities in Chongwe and Mumbwa for the continuous strengthening of rural ART services.
  4. Plan, introduce and manage the mobile ART services as per the National Mobile ART Services Guildelines.

Input Summary by Japanese Side

  • Long-term Experts: 4 persons/ year (Chief Advisor/Health Service Planning, HIV and AIDS Care, Laboratory Services, Coordinator/ Public Health)
  • Short-term Experts: about 4 persons/ year (Health Education, TB/HIV, PMTCT, Operational Research, etc.)
  • Equipment and Materials: Necessary Laboratory/ office equipment, computers and others, a vehicle for supervisory visits (depending on the necessity)
  • Dispatch of Trainees to Japan or third-country: in the field of HIV and Health administration, HIV and Rural health program, TB/HIV, etc.
