Activities in Dominican Republic

Project for Strengthening Nursing Education and In-Service Training in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic

The objective of the project is to develop the capacity of specialists providing basic nursing education in the five countries of the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.

Project Summary

With El Salvador as the base, training is being provided to nursing education specialists in each of the five nations on such topics as creating a basic nursing education curriculum, community nursing, and partnerships between teaching and practical training organizations. As part of the project activities, four committees in the areas of community nursing, reproductive health, education and practical training coordination, and the nursing process have been formed to provide training to nursing specialists in the Dominican Republic.
