Have a look at the map of Japan on the wall. The first thing you might notice is how many people emigrated overseas. If you pay close attention, you will probably notice that people immigrated from certain areas more than others. Prefectures that had particularly large numbers of immigrants were known as “migration prefectures.”
Have a look at the video interviews with immigrants, the data from each prefecture, and other materials to see if you can figure out for yourself why so many people migrated from certain prefectures.
