Over 150 years have passed since Japanese began migrating overseas, and the environments in which they live have changed much over time. This exhibit area uses Brazil as an example to show some of the changes that have occurred. Here, you can listen to interviews with Nikkei living in Japan and elsewhere around the world about Nikkei people and society, which has grown ever more diverse over time.
We also invite you to learn about the laws regarding foreigners in Japan and watch interviews on the subject of “discrimination and prejudice.”
