This book is an English translation of “Nishitaiheiyo rengo no susume: Nihon no ’atarashii chiseigaku‘ ”(2021, Toyo Keizai Inc.), supervised by Dr. Kitaoka Shinichi, Special Advisor to the President (former President) of JICA. A team of established scholars, younger researchers, and specialists joined this book, which examines the realization of the Japanese government's foreign policy of "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" (FOIP) vision from a geopolitical perspective and envisions the formulation of a Western Pacific Union.
