Emergency Assistance to the Republic of Kiribati in Response to the Drought

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the severe drought Disaster, upon the request from the Government of Republic of Kiribati (hereinafter referred to Kiribati).

Disaster situation
On June 11, 2022, the government of Kiribati issued a national disaster declaration for the entire country due to the serious drought condition. According to the Government of Kiribati, the damage situation as of July 6th was as follows:
Affected 119,000 people (the whole nation) -

Goods to be supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Singapore)
Portable jerry cans
Water purifiers
B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Singapore to Bonriki International Airport via Australia on the next available flight.
