Emergency Assistance to West of Afganistan in Response to the Earthquake

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the earthquake, upon the request from International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies(IFRC).
1. Disaster situation
The full extent of the damage is yet to become clear, but the earthquake, which occured around 11 AM on 7th October, has caused serious human and property damage. The damage situation as of 9th October was as follows:
Deaths 2,445 (Reuters 9th Oct. 07:20)
Injured over 2,000 (AP NEWS 9th Oct. 05:54)
Affected from 1.216milllion(USGS 9th Oct.) to 1.86million(EU/ECHO Flush 9th Oct.)
Collapsed houses 1,300 (IFRC 8th Oct. 20:00)
2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Dubai)
Tents
Blankets
Plastic sheets
Sleeping pads
Portable jerry cans
Water purifiers
B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Dubai to Kabul on the next available flight.
