Emergency Assistance to North of Afghanistan in Response to the Flood disaster

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the flood disaster, upon the request from the IFRC (The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies).
1. Disaster situation
Flood, which occurred on the beginning of May, has been causing serious human and property damage. According to international organizations, the damage situation as of 14th May was as follows:
Deaths 315
Injured 2,200+
Damaged houses 8,975+
Infrastructure loss
7 public school collapsed, 19 damaged
50 bridges, 30 electricity dams damaged
Damaged medical centers and public health situation
11 medical centers stop their services
Agriculture
10,200 acres of orchards destroyed
2,260 livestock dyed
2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Dubai)
Sleeping pads
Blankets
Portable jerry cans
Water purifiers
Plastic sheets
Tents
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Dubai to Kabul on the next available flight.
