JICA President Tanaka held talks with UNRWA Commissioner-General Lazzarini

On October 4, JICA President Tanaka Akihiko held talks with Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) at JICA Headquarters in Tokyo.
President Tanaka began the talks by thanking Commissioner-General Lazzarini for the continuing cooperative relationship between UNRWA and JICA.
In response, Commissioner-General Lazzarini stated that he would like to further deepen collaboration with JICA amid the protracted status of the refugee problem in Palestine, which has lasted for more than 70 years.
The two then exchanged views on the possibilities for expanded cooperation in the advancement of JICA's Palestinian Refugee Camp Improvement Project and on the establishment of a UNRWA base in Japan in the near future.
