JICA President Tanaka Met with Deputy Prime Minister of Viet Nam Le Minh Khai

On May 23, JICA President Tanaka Akihiko met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Le Minh Khai at JICA Headquarters.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Tanaka affirmed JICA’s desire to further advance relations between Japan and Viet Nam by enhancing contributions through ODA projects, following the elevation of the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the Japan-Viet Nam Summit Meeting in November 2023.
Deputy Prime Minister Khai conveyed his gratitude for JICA’s longstanding cooperation with Viet Nam, including “Project for Training and Refresher Training of Leaders and Managers at Different Levels, especially the Strategic One” and other human resource development initiatives, and relayed expectations for future cooperation in the fields of green transformation (GX), digital transformation (DX), climate change, and human resource development.
Both parties subsequently exchanged opinions on ongoing cooperative projects and new directions for ODA initiatives.
