JICA Executive Senior Vice President Miyazaki Met with Chief Advisor of Bangladesh Yunus

On July 3, JICA Executive Senior Vice President Miyazaki Katsura met with Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, in the capital city Dhaka.
At the outset, Executive Senior Vice President Miyazaki explained that she visited Bangladesh for the first time to attend the memorial ceremony held on July 2 to commemorate the seven Japanese citizens who lost their lives in the 2016 Dhaka Terrorist Attack, and to deepen JICA’s ties with Bangladesh furthermore.
In response, Dr. Yunus paid his condolences to those who deceased in the Terrorist Attack. He also expressed his appreciation and expectations for JICA's cooperation in the advancement of Moheshkhali-Matabari Integrated Infrastructure Development Initiative (MIDI), human resource development, and digital transformation.
Both parties further exchanged views on JICA’s cooperation with reforms by the interim government and realization of human security.
