JICA President Tanaka Met with GPE Chair of the Board of Directors Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete

On July 14, JICA President Tanaka Akihiko met with H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and the former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, at JICA headquarters in Tokyo.
At the outset, President Tanaka expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet H.E. Kikwete again, following their previous meeting last March. He also highlighted the importance of education cooperation as a field directly linked to human security. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of collaboration with GPE in implementing JICA’s activities in the field of education.
In response, H.E. Kikwete, Chair of the Board of Directors, underlined the strong partnership between the Government of Japan and GPE and expressed his hope for further collaboration with JICA.
