Signing of Japanese ODA Loan Agreement with the Philippines: Contributing to COVID-19 crisis response in the Philippines through providing budget support

On July 1, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a loan agreement with the Government of the Republic of the Philippines in Manila, Philippines to provide a Japanese ODA loan of up to 50 billion yen for COVID-19 Crisis Response Emergency Support Loan.
The objective of the project is to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the Philippines which is suffering from the pandemic and to support the government’s emergency response to bring social protection and relief to affected people and economic stimulus by providing budget support co-financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). This project will contribute to the achievement of SDGs Goals 1, 3, and 8.
