Signing of Grant Agreement with Jordan: Contributing to a stable water supply to Greater Amman and the Balqa Governorate through upgrading facilities and equipment

On January 18, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan inAmman, to provide grant aid of up to 2.379 billion yen for the Project for Improvement of the Zai Water Supply System.
Under this project, the existing facilities and equipment of the Zai Water Supply System will be upgraded to prevent a decrease of water supply volume due to the deterioration of the facilities and equipment, and to improve operational efficiency together with a reduction in the operating costs. It is expected that this project will contribute to the autonomous and sustainable growth of the economy of Jordan. This project will contribute to the achievement of SDGs Goal 6 and 13.
