On March 14, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a loan agreement with the Royal Government of Cambodia in Phnom Penh, the capital, to provide a Japanese ODA loan of up to 21,104 million yen for the Regional Hospital Development Project.

This project will provide the necessary medical facilities and equipment to upgrade provincial hospitals in Siem Reap and Kampong Cham provinces to regional hospitals. It aims to improve access to advanced medical care in rural Cambodia, reduce disparities between the capital and provincial areas, and promote the health of rural residents, thereby contributing to the achievement of SDGs Goal 3 (Good health and well-being).
