On August 1, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek, to provide grant aid for the Project for the Improvement of Medical Equipment at Tertiary Hospitals in Bishkek and the Project for Improvement of Air Traffic Control Facilities at International Airports .

Project Objective
The objective of the Project is to strengthen diagnosis and treatment capacities by providing medical equipment for diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease and breast cancer to tertiary hospitals in Bishkek city, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality of health care services in the top referral hospitals.

Project Objective
The objective of the Project is to improve quality of air traffic control services by the construction of new air traffic control facilities at Osh International Airport and the renewal of air traffic control systems at the three international airports in Manas, Osh and Issuk-Kul, thereby contributing to enhancement of the regional connectivity and improvement of infrastructure necessary for the further industry diversification of the Kyrgyz Republic.
