round-table meeting
As ASEAN countries experience remarkable economic growth, their roles within the international community are expanding, and transitioning to key “providers” of development cooperation.
JICA has supported the establishment of development cooperation agencies in ASEAN countries and has been engaged in “triangular cooperation” for the past 30 years, facilitating the extension of assistance by ASEAN development cooperation departments and agencies to other developing countries (South-South cooperation). Through these joint efforts to provide development cooperation to other countries, JICA and ASEAN development cooperation departments and agencies have fostered mutual learning and built strong relationships of trust.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA). JICA will remain committed to strengthening its network with its partners in ASEAN, working together to leverage their respective strengths and solve global development issues as regional co-creation partners in a rapidly evolving international landscape.
