On November 5, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a loan agreement with the Şekerbank Türk Anonim Şirketi, for Private Sector Investment Finance Project.
The loan is co-financed with FMO and Proparco.

The Project to Support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Rural Areas of Turkey

・Project Purpose
The Project aims to improve access to finance for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSME) in Turkey by providing loans to Sekerbank, a local commercial bank in the country, thereby contributing to improving access to finance for MSME in rural areas, maintaining and expanding employment, and improving economic disparities between urban and rural areas.

・Project Component
The Project provides loans to be sub-loaned through Sekerbank to MSME in rural areas of Turkey, including areas affected by the Turkish-Syrian earthquake in February 2023, and/or to MSME operated by women.
