Signing of Grant Agreement with Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia: Contributing to the improvement of learning environment and girls’ school attendance by establishing new gender-sensitive schools

On November 20, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa, the capital city, to provide grant aid for the Project for the Improvement of Secondary Schools in Sidama Region.

The objective of the Project is to improve access to secondary education programs and to improve learning environments in Sidama region through construction of new upper secondary schools and provision of educational equipment considering gender needs, thereby contributing to improving the quality of education and promoting girls’ education in Sidama region.
