On December 17, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of Pakistan in the capital city Islamabad, to provide grant aid for the Project for Flood Management Enhancement in the Indus Basin.

- Project Title
The Project for Flood Management Enhancement in the Indus Basin

- Country (Target Areas)
The Indus Basin and its tributaries, including the Punjab province, Balochistan province, Sindh province and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province(Abbottabad district, Mansehra district, and Haripur district)

- Project Objective
The objective of the Project is to improve the quantity and quality of fundamental data needed for future river management and enhancing the strength of river structures against flash floods by/through develop a hydrological and hydraulic observation network and rehabilitate and improve the river structures in the Indus River and its tributaries, thereby contributing to future flood risk reduction.

- Specific Project Details

2,831 million Japanese Yen
