On February 25, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of Lao People’s Democratic Republic in the capital city Vientiane, to provide grant aid for the Project for the Improvement of the Provincial Teacher Development Centers.

The objective of the Project is to establish proper in-service training system in cooperation with Teacher Training Colleges by constructing the Provincial Teacher Development Centers, thereby contributing to the improvement of the capacity of basic education teachers.
