On March 3, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to provide grant aid for the Project for the Livelihood Improvement in the Hosting Areas of Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons.

The Project aims to improve the livelihoods of the returnees, internally displaced persons, and hosting areas through construction of facilities and delivery of equipment which enable to strengthen their economic activities, thereby contributing to sustainable and self-reliant development of Afghanistan.
