On February 25, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the capital city Addis Ababa, to provide grant aid for the Project for Promoting Climate-resilient Agricultural Management through the Establishment of the Farmers Field School in the Conflict-affected Communities in Northern Regions.

- Country (Target Areas)
The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (Tigray, Amhara and Afar regions) 

- Project Objective
Farmers and their community members in selected areas in Tigray, Amhara and Afar regions gain the knowledge and skills for climate-resilient agricultural management and improve their livelihoods through Farmers Field School.

- Specific Project Details
(a) Knowledge, practices and skills of smallholder farmers and extension workers are enhanced.
(b) Community-based seed multiplication groups are established.
(c) Local availability of postharvest handling technologies is increased.
(d) Irrigation infrastructures are rehabilitated and upgraded.

1,093 million Japanese Yen

48 Months(including detailed design work and procurement)
