On March 14, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam, to provide grant aid for the Project for the Improvement of Medical Equipment for Enhancing Maternal and Child Health Care Services.

The United Republic of Tanzania
(Arusha, Mwanza, Dodoma, Pwani, Ruvuma, Kigoma regions in mainland, and Zanzibar)

- Project Objective
The objective of the Project is to strengthen the ability of examination, diagnosis and treatment of six regional referral hospitals in mainland and one regional hospital of Zanzibar through the provision of medical equipment, thereby contributing to the improvement of the quality of maternal and new-born care in Tanzania

1,527 million Japanese Yen
