Signing of Grant Agreement with Liberia: Contributing to the revitalization of the flow of people and logistics

On March 12th, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of Republic of Liberia in (the capital city) Monrovia, to provide grant aid for the Project for the Extension of Japan freeway(Additionally, for the detailed design of the project, JICA already signed an agreement to provide grant aid of up to 43 million yen in March, 2024).

The objective of the Project is to improve smooth and safe road traffic in the subject section by rehabilitating the existing four lanes, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the flow of people and logistics.

(a) reconstruction and extension of Japan Freeway in Monrovia
(b) procurement and installation of incidental facilities
(c) consulting services

- Maximum Grant Amount
2,725 million Japanese Yen

- Implementation Period (planned)
52 Months(including detailed design work and procurement)
