On August 20, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Republic of Angola in Yokohama city, to provide a grant aid for the Project for the Development of the Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting Network.

The Project for the Development of the Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting Network

Republic of Angola (Luanda Province and Benguela Province)

- Project Objective
The objective of the Project is to increase the coverage of the population of television broadcasting and the number of available TV programmes by constructing the facilities and equipment for the digital terrestrial broadcasting network, thereby contributing to improve access to information in Angola.

- Specific Project Details
(a) construction of antenna tower
(b) procurement and installation of Head-end system, Satellite communication system, Digital TV transmitting system, measuring equipment and associated materials
(c) consulting services

- Maximum Grant Amount
1,595 million Japanese Yen

- Implementation Period (planned)
23 Months(including detailed design work and procurement)
