On October 1, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a loan agreement with ECOM Agroindustrial Corp. Limited (ECOM), a global integrated supply chain merchant and processor of agricultural commodities , and one of its group companies.
This project, co-financed with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), aims to contribute to strengthening stable coffee supply chains and improving the livelihoods and employment opportunities of small-scale farmers in the Asia-Pacific region.

4. Project Title
Project for Sustainable Coffee Supply Chain and Small-scale Farmer Support
5. Project Purpose
The project aims to strengthen supply chains and improve livelihoods and employment for small-scale farmers in the Asia-Pacific region by supporting the stable procurement of coffee from over 60,000 small-scale farmers in India, Indonesia, PNG, and Vietnam through a long-term working capital loan to the ECOM Group.
6. Project Component
Through providing a long-term loan to the ECOM Group, the project supports funding for purchasing from small-scale coffee farmers, and consulting services for small-scale farmers, such as coffee certification support, climate change adaptation pilot projects, and farm management guidance for female farmers.
