On October 2, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Republic of Ghana in the capital city Accra, to provide grant aid for the Project for the Improvement of the Inner Ring Road in Kumasi City.

The objective of the Project is to develop a safe and efficient road network in Kumasi by/through improvement of the Santasi and the Ahodwo Roundabouts and dualization of the section between the two roundabouts on the Kumasi Inner Ring Road, thereby contributing to revitalization of Ghana’s economy, smooth movement of regional logistics and improvement of connectivity with the county’s main economic zones and the landlocked countries.
