On November 12, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed an agreement with Helios Investment Partners (Helios), a leading private equity fund manager in Africa, with regards to JICA’s admission as a limited partner of their Helios Investors V, L.P.

JICA is co-investing with development finance institutions such as International Finance Corporation (IFC), European Investment Bank (EIB), as well as private financial and strategic investors.

The objective of the Project is to contribute to industrial development in the Pan-African region by/through investing in a leading private equity fund specializing in Africa, thereby promoting the competitiveness of companies and improving access to finance in the region.

Proceeds will be used for the capital invested in growing African companies.
