On December 12, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a loan agreement with the Government of Republic of Paraguay in the capital city Asuncion, to provide Japanese ODA loan for the Project for Improving Integration and Socioeconomic Development Corridor in the Southwestern Region. The signatures were exchanged between Minister Carlos Fernández Valdovinos of Ministry of Economy and Finance and Chief Representative, Takahatake Chika of JICA Paraguay.

This project may utilize Japanese companies' technologies for subbase improvement, road markings, and reinforcement materials for concrete pavement at toll station.
