Signing of Grant Agreement with Kyrgyz Republic:Contributing to improving quality of health care services by providing medical equipment to referral hospitals in Southern Regions

On December12, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the capital city Bishkek, to provide grant aid for the Project for the Improvement of Medical Equipment at Referral Hospitals in Southern Regions. The signatures were exchanged between Minister Almaz Baketaev of Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic and Chief Representative Nishigata Kotaro of JICA Kyrgyz Republic.
This project contributes to the international expansion of high-quality and reliable Japanese medical equipment.

- Project Objective
The objective of the Project is to strengthen diagnosis and treatment capacity of non-communicable diseases by providing medical equipment dealing with cardiovascular diseases and cancer to referral hospitals for the southern regions of the Kyrgyz Republic (Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken) located in Osh City, thereby contributing to improving the quality of health care services.

1) The delivery of the equipment is expected to be completed in 24 months.
2) The manufacturers’ warranty is for 12 months, and the maintenance contract is for 24 months after the end of the manufacturers’ warranty.
