On August 25, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Record of Discussions with the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia in the capital city Phnom Penh, for “the Project for Strengthening Capacity of Water Supply Administration and Water Utilities”, a technical cooperation project. The signatures were exchanged between Secretary of State Sim Sitha of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, Delegate of the Royal Government, and Director General In Sakan of the Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority of Cambodia and Chief Representative Kazumasa Sanui of JICA Cambodia Office.

The Project aims to strengthen overall capacity in water supply administration and develop human resources with the cooperation of Japanese municipality Kitakyushu City, which has long supported Cambodia’s water supply sector and achieved remarkable improvements in water services in Phnom Penh.
