In the Jakarta Metropolitan area, traffic congestion has become increasingly serious due to population growth and urban expansion. Given the circumstance, the Project aims to strengthen capacities for planning and coordinating public transport systems and transport interchanges, as well as capacities for formulating financing schemes for the Directorate General of Transportation and Multimodal Integration (DGTMI) and related organizations in the Jakarta Metropolitan Area, through the preparation of feeder transport interchange development plans in pilot areas, the establishment of coordination mechanisms among relevant organizations, and the development of handbooks on implementation methods and business models. The Project will help improve connectivity within the public transport network including MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) and promote public transport use, contributing to alleviating traffic congestion and advancing sustainable urban transport in the Jakarta Metropolitan Area.
