Primary objectives and outcomes

Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), including digital ID, digital payments and data exchange, is increasingly recognized as a foundation that enables inclusive service delivery and efficient information management. JICA sees strong potential for applying DPI to climate action and launched the “DPI for People and Planet (DPI4PP)” initiative in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Co-Develop, the Centre for Digital Public Infrastructure (CDPI) and Boston Consulting Group (BCG). This initiative aims to identify and support innovative climate solutions that leverage DPI. The event was organized to present the achievements of the five finalists selected from 544 applications across 73 countries and to highlight the potential of DPI in driving effective climate action.
