Emergency Assistance to Belize in Response to Hurricane“Lisa”Disaster

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to Hurricane “Lisa”disaster, upon the request from the Government ofBelize.

1. Disaster situation
Hurricane “Lisa”Disaster, which occurred on November 2, has caused serious human and property damage. According to the Government of Belize, the damage situation as of November 3 was as follows:
Affected 94,271
Evacuees 5,000
Damaged houses 5,500

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Miami)
Tents
Blankets
Plastic sheets
Sleeping pads
Generator
Trans

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Miami to Belize City on the next available flight.
