Emergency Assistance to Turkey in Response to the Earthquake

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the earthquake disaster, upon the request from the Government of Turkey.
1. Disaster situation
Magnitude 7.8 earthquake occurred at 4:17am on Feb 6 in Turkey, causing serious human and property damage. According to UN OCHA, the damage situation as of February 10th was as follows:
Deaths 12,873
Injured 63,000
Affected Around 13.5 million
Collapsed houses 6,444


2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Dubai)
Tents
Blankets
Sleeping pads

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Dubai to Ankara on the next available flight.
