Additional Emergency Assistance to Turkey in Response to the Earthquake

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide additional emergency relief goods as below in response to the earthquake disaster, upon the request from the Government of Turkey.

1. Disaster situation
Magnitude 7.8 earthquake occurred at 4:17am on Feb 6 in Turkey, causing serious human and property damage. According to the Government of Turkey and local press release , the damage situation as of February 14th was as follows:
Deaths 36,187
Injured 108,068
Evacuees 216,347
Collapsed houses 41,791

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Singapore)
Blankets
Sleeping pads
Generator
B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Singapore to Adana on the next available flight.
