Dispatch of the Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Expert Team in Response to an Oil Spill Disaster off the Coast of Mindoro Island in the Republic of the Philippines

Upon the request of the Government of the Philippine, Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Expert Team will be dispatched on March 10 in response to the oil spill caused by a tanker, MT Princess Empress.

The Expert Team composed of 8 members will give advisory and assistance of activities for oil removal and control on the affected sites.

Disaster Situation
On February 28, the small tanker "MT Princess Empress" capsized approximately 20 kilometers east of Mindoro Island, causing an oil spill.
