When asked what he will “take back” from Papua New Guinea, Mr. Mochizuki shared a heartfelt reflection: In PNG, everyone is connected—through nuclear families, extended families, and wider community ties. He noted that the deep human connection in PNG stretches far beyond blood relations and that “no one is alone here.” He hopes to take this spirit of connection back to Japan and apply these values and insights, which have profoundly shaped his mindset and enriched his life.
