Creating New Models: Innovative Public-Private Partnerships for Inclusive Development in Latin America

In April 2014, the World Economic Forum released a report based on the discussion at the World Economic Forum on Latin America held in Peru in April 2013.

The report highlights a series of case studies focusing on innovative public-private partnerships, covering a broad set of thematic areas including education, health, and environment in Latin America. It illustrates that collaboration among public and private stakeholders is essential in achieving sustainable and inclusive economic growth and social development.

In this report, JICA-RI Senior Research Advisor Akio Hosono, who attended the Forum, introduces two case studies that JICA has supported in this region: the case of ecologically friendly agroforestry in the eastern Amazon rainforest and the one on affordable earthquake-resistant housing in Central America.
