JICA Development Studies Program

JICA-DSP invites future leaders from partner countries to Japan, and offers them the opportunity to learn about Japan's modernization and development experiences, which differ from those of Europe and the U.S., as well as about Japan's expertise as a post-war donor country.

JICA Ogata Sadako Research Institute for Peace and Development (JICA Ogata Research Institute) is mainly in charge of the areas of law and politics, economics, and social development in JICA-DSP and works to building and enhancing partnerships with the graduate programs of Japanese universities. JICA Ogata Research Institute is engaged in the development of teaching and learning materials for the lecturers and the students on the experiences of Japan’s development and development experiences for facilitating their activities.

JICA Ogata Research Institute also contributed to creating the TV lecture program “Seven Chapters on Japan’s Modernization”, the first joint product with the Open University of Japan for JICA scholarship students.
