The first remote training session on improving public transportation operations in Belgrade was held.

Training sessions in Japan in support of the Project for Modernization of Public Transport in Belgrade (hereinafter referred to as "the Project") had been planned in 2021, but due to the global spread of COVID-19 and the logistics challenges it posed, six remote training sessions were organized as a replacement. The first remote training session was held in 8th April 2022.

In order to improve operations and strengthen the capacities of SfPT and private public transport operators in Belgrade, the JICA project team has shared information on the specific initiatives and methods used by Japanese bus operators when formulating bus route and operation plans, as well as detailed information bus drivers' training and information dissemination to users.

The first remote training session was attended by over 25 participants from SfPT, and they were provided an overview of the bus transportation market in Japan, equipment and office operations related to bus operations in Japan, and initiatives related to MaaS. The bus systems in Yokohama City and Tokyo BRT were examined as new and exemplary case studies.

The next training session is scheduled for late April, and will use videos of actual bus operation management methods by bus operators in Japan.
